We understand this news has come as a shock to many of you, and we want to be as open and transparent as possible about what’s happening.

Our residents and their families deserve the very best. It has become increasingly apparent that our building – primarily the upper two floors – simply isn’t designed properly for modern dementia care. The layout we inherited from when this was a local authority home needs a major overhaul.

The facility needs significant redesign to create the kind of open, communal spaces where residents can be cared for safely and comfortably. We have a vision for reducing the number of bedrooms and creating expansive, bright living spaces that nourish residents.

Trying to deliver care with a flawed layout would not have been fair to our residents or to our staff.

The decision was accelerated by recent departures of staff. We had to decide whether to hire replacements or to bring forward the remodel. After weighing the options, we took the difficult choice to wind down operations in an orderly fashion over the next 12 weeks.

Our priority right now is supporting our residents and their families through this transition. We’re working closely with Cheshire East local authority and neighbouring care homes to help every resident find a suitable new home. We know this is distressing and unsettling, and we’re doing everything we can to make this as smooth as possible.

For staff members affected by the closure, we will do everything that we can to support you in finding a new position.
