Whether you’re caring for a parent, partner, or friend, it can be hard to find time for yourself — even just to get the shopping done or enjoy a quiet moment. That’s where we come in.

At Riseley House, we offer warm, friendly Day Care for people aged 55 and over, giving families a bit of breathing space while their loved one enjoys company, homecooked food, and gentle support from a team that genuinely cares.

What’s included

Our Day Care service runs Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm — and includes everything you’d expect from a proper day out.

  • £100 per day (or £15/hour if needed)

  • All meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the day

  • Daily activities, games, and occasional outings

  • Support with personal care, bathing and hairdressing if needed

  • Quiet time and one-to-one support

  • A free taster session for new families

You don’t need to commit to anything long-term — just book a day or two and see how it goes.

Who Day Care is for

We welcome anyone over 55 who could use a bit more support, structure or company during the day. Some of our guests are living with dementia or health issues. Others just enjoy the social side, especially if they’re on their own at home.

This service is also here to help family carers. Whether you need to work, catch up on errands, or just take a well-earned break — we’ll make sure your loved one is safe, comfortable and looked after.

What a typical day looks like

No two days are the same at Riseley, but here’s a general idea of how things flow:

Morning

  • Arrive and settle in with a cup of tea and breakfast

  • Group activities: arts & crafts, gardening, music, or games

  • Mid-morning snack and conversation

Lunchtime

  • Two-course meal with friends around the table

  • Quiet time or optional one-to-one support

Afternoon

  • Entertainment or a gentle outing (weather permitting)

  • Afternoon tea with homemade cake

  • Help with bathing, hair, or freshening up before heading home

We always work around the needs and preferences of the people we’re caring for — and there’s no pressure to join in with everything.

Day Care in Macclesfield Faqs

We’re happy to be flexible. Most people join us for the full 9am–5pm day (£100), but if a shorter visit suits you better, we offer hourly sessions at £15/hour. Just let us know what works best and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Not at all. You don’t need a GP referral or diagnosis to use our Day Care service. If your loved one would benefit from a safe, sociable day out with gentle support — even just now and then — we’d be happy to welcome them.
