At Riseley House, we love making seasonal celebrations special — and this past week was filled with Easter activities at our Macclesfield care home that brought joy, laughter, and a real sense of togetherness. From creative bonnet-making to energetic games and intergenerational crafts, the home was buzzing with community spirit and Easter cheer.
From games to crafting, here are 8 of the most joyful moments we shared:
🎨 1. Easter Bonnet Nest Crafting
Residents collaborated to make beautiful, nature-inspired Easter bonnets, complete with twigs and nest-like designs. These crafts allowed everyone to express creativity and enjoy the season’s spirit together.
🏐 2. Balloon Volleyball
Laughter filled the room as residents joined in a friendly match of balloon volleyball — a simple but highly enjoyable game that promoted movement and camaraderie.
🐰 3. “Get the Balls in Bunny’s Mouth”
This Easter-themed tossing game became a highlight of the week! A perfect mix of fun and coordination, the game brought out everyone’s competitive streak in the best way.
🍫 4. Easter Egg Prizes & Thank Yous
We were grateful for the support of Tesco for their Easter goodies and Windsor Fashions for a fabulous shopping experience. Their contributions helped us reward game winners and made the celebrations extra festive.

🎸 5. Guitar Lessons for All
Residents picked up new skills with gentle guitar strumming lessons, encouraging curiosity, coordination, and creative learning.
🎤 6. Sing-Alongs with Andy
Our weekly musical session with Andy is always a hit, and this week was no exception. Songs, smiles and a true sense of togetherness lit up the lounge.
👶 7. Crafting with Preschoolers
We were joined by children from a nearby nursery for a session of intergenerational crafts. These shared moments between young and old are deeply rewarding — for everyone involved.
🍽 8. Decorating for Easter Lunch
To wrap up the week, residents helped decorate the dining room ahead of our Easter lunch. From arranging spring flowers to setting the tables, it was wonderful to see them take ownership and pride in their space.
